We are not asking for sovereign state of Igala country as it was called in the treaty drawn between the Queen of England and the Attah in 1831 and signed in 1841.

We are not part of the movement for the survival of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB). Our lands and the people have greatly contributed to the high density of Ibo population. We are simply asking for the return of our land and people.

We are simply asking for the return of our land and people that were annexed to the eastern and southern region in 1927 from the then Idah division.

The people are not accepted as Ibos. As they struggle to learn Ibo language, Ibo themselves complain of their dialect not being understood. The people on their part have been struggling to join their kits and kins in Kogi State to no avail. They used the river as natural boundaries to divide our people and make them micro-minorities within a larger ethnic group. This is described by the United Nations as “ethnic genocide”.
